Mr. Wayne Lloyd

Earth Sciences- Soccer Intramurals

Otwell Middle School

Wayne Lloyd is a Science Teacher at Otwell Middle School where he trains students to be scientifically literate, that is he curates activities that develop critical thinking and investigation skills and allows students to apply those skills in real-world situations. Wayne completed his undergraduate work at the Georgia Institute of Technology and has masters degrees from both the University of Georgia (MBA) and the University of North Georgia (MAT).

Growing up, everyone in Wayne’s family was, at one time or another, a smoker. Everyone in his family also found the power to eventually quit smoking. He has seen firsthand the long term debilitating effects smoking can have. The decline of smoking in youth populations has been encouraging as education and awareness continually improves, but the rise and availability of “vape” products introduces an alarming alternative that is currently blanketed in misinformation and unreliable science. Wayne is excited to assist in the outreach campaign to expose this trojan horse!
